Advantages of Laser Skin Lightening Treatment

What is Laser Skin Brightening?

Laser technologies have become a big thing today and many people are opting for laser treatments, be it a major surgery or beautification. We live in a world where flawless skin is something most people crave for. However, the occasional acne breakouts, uneven skin tones, fine lines and wrinkles make it very difficult to achieve unblemished skin. Laser technologies exist to make sure that these problems do not hinder your road to success. Laser skin lightening treatment or “laser peel” is one such wonder of laser technology that makes you get rid of not just one but multiple skin issues at once. Be it discoloration of skin due to hormonal imbalance or acne scars, fine lines and freckles, a laser skin lightening treatment takes care of it all.

In this procedure, short and concentrated laser beams are used to remove damaged skin. The laser beam basically removes the upper layer of the skin or epidermis as this layer is where the dead skin cells are. This is done by heating the underlying dermis and the growth of new cells is stimulated. When the new skin cells form in the process of healing, it gives you a younger looking skin.

Types of Laser Skin Lightening Treatment

When it comes to laser skin resurfacing, there are three techniques that are available:

1. Ablative Laser Resurfacing: In this procedure, the upper layer of the skin is removed along with a part of the underlying sub layer. Ablative Laser resurfacing is usually a one-time treatment option and also considered to be the most effective procedure. However, the recovery time is more as it takes time for the upper layer of the skin to heal.

2. Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing: This procedure focuses on the affected areas and skin cells without disturbing the upper layer or epidermis of the skin. This is basically a ‘tricky’ procedure to make the skin produce more collagen and give you younger looking and healthy skin. The recovery time is less as the outer layer of the skin is untouched.

3. Fractional Skin Resurfacing: This procedure uses both ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing techniques in order to give more effective results. It also has a faster recovery time.

It depends on the area being covered during the procedure to determine whether a patient needs a local anesthetic or not.

Advantages of Laser Skin Brightening

Get fast results: Most skin whitening treatments do not show results straight away and often are not permanent solutions. Laser skin brightening treatments show instant results with the skin feeling softer and brighter immediately after treatment. The skin shows immediate improvements with the healing progressing over three to six months. Ablative procedures may only require one or two sessions to completely remove dark spots and improve the appearance of your skin. Non-ablative treatments may require multiple sessions of near about one to five sessions.

Good results reported widely by many: Although most of the time skin brightening products have been reported of failure and inefficacy, laser skin lightening treatments have been proven and reported by most people to deliver great results.

Being under professional help: Be it during the treatment or after, patients are always under the careful and professional hands of specialists who monitor the effects of the procedure closely. Although there are certain obvious side effects like redness and swelling of the area that is treated, there can be unwanted complications too. In that case, specialists handle the problem effectively and prevent it from leading to serious issues.
